I trust in free culture, and I’m happy to play for free in free parties if it also otherwise suits my travel plans :)
But if the party is not free I think it’s fair that I get my share. And anyway I don’t have that much income so I need all the money I can get :/
My sets come from CDs since the way I make my music is ill suited for live play. I can play anything from a 1 to 3 hour set.
